Treme Renovation "The JewelBox"

Involved renovation that involved removing a load bearing wall and building trusses in the ceiling. There was minimal work done to the exterior of the house so to get light into the bathroom I utilized a window that looks out onto the new kitchen.
This project involved a complete bathroom and kitchen rebuild. To soften the new cabinetry and appliances I incorporated as much architectural millwork and salvage as I could. The house's name "The JewelBox" comes from a storied New Orleans barroom in the Ninth Ward, and it was this that inspired the custom metalwork done for the front porch railing detail.
