To be perfectly frank, I don't recommend many people to consider converting shipping containers into livable spaces. For most purposes, it ends up being quite expensive and ultimately awkward in design. However, if you live in disaster prone areas, these buildings are heavily resilient. And if the worst happens, at some point you can presumably put them on a truck and haul them off to what hopes to be a less...perilous location? Well, living and building in a city where one looks up to see the ships passing on the river, it seemed at least somewhat logical for me to build in this way.
